VALENTINE EVENT (DAY 5 ARTOONSINN)

The gates of Shangri-La were thrown open Cosmic skies rained down meteor showers Time collapsed into a smidgen My heart raced at light speed Like the gentle streams and the birds that sing I cruised the world and the seven seas My love songs were the rock and the jazz Twirling with you under sequinned skies in a fluid waltz Traveling by the starlight, you shine on my path On journeys through mazes and vexing labyrinths You're my map, my compass leading to home and hearth... A safehouse and my oasis in deserts arid A monarch and majesty of your love  Was the endless yearning, a distant reunion  As that of the sea and sky in the horizon... VALENTINE EVENT (DAY 4, ARTOONSINN)

The shivery willow trees are dancing     silhouettes in the moonlight argentine The summer air is replete With spilling fragrance of damask roses and jessamine The milieu and aura tingle my senses It's time to light the tealights and aromatic  candles. Evading wary eyes, I scurry on tiptoe,  Darting my eyes hither-thither… I must make good time, can't hold back any longer! Dashing into my room, fastening the lock, My excitement knows no bounds,  It's brimming chock-a-block! Unlacing a smooth satin bow silvery I'm reunited with my true love;  Hush!... I'm in a tryst with my diary! Pic Courtesy:ArtoonsInn Poetry Parlour  ©️ Sangeetha Kamath

VALENTINE EVENT (DAY 3 ARTOONSINN)

When it came with overblown fanfare, packaged in satins, Tied with laces, ribbons, diamantes and sequins, You had me stunned...You were the one! Romance was a word---new, all others it hands-down outshone! The stars were made of diamond, the moon, of gold In all naivete, I believed all the pretty little lies  You unflinchingly told.. My heart is a slab of crystalline ice Inside a thorny cage cowering from foolery and malice Romance had a bitter price to pay--- Maroons, scarlets of the roses burnt to ashes drab gray! It creeps in with the brush with a bramble bush Ripping dreams apart with the evanescence of heart's first gush. Romance lives on as poetry in the air  Bleeding profusely, endlessly with a morbid flair… As a melancholic tune of a song once smitten… One man's banquet is to another---  A holy penance or a regret rotten! VALENTINE EVENT (DAY 2 ARTOONSINN)

Sitting by my window on solitary evenings,  I reminisce and remember...How I'd lost you during  The monsoon thunder shower! Your memories are snapshots on thin ice, frozen They shimmer crystalline, aureating imperially golden! And unforgotten they remain---Fragile! As a daisy chain..  I guard them closely, like a last cookie  crumb But when they audaciously seep through unawares,  To briny droplets I succumb... On solitary evenings, I walk alone in the jewelled realm I've lost my anchor...my ship... and my helm! I miss your warm embrace, you made things better I wish I could hug you longer and tighter… I fall to pieces when I pine for you My love for you is deep and true Can we relive this again? When we reunite for eternity in heaven? Pic Courtesy: ArtoonsInn Poetry Parlour  ©️ Sangeetha Kamath

VALENTINE EVENT (DAY 1 ARTOONSINN)

In the inky velvet darkness Your love was born of stardust sparkle A ray on the path which guided  Me to you, in a pulsing twinkle The glorious pink sunbeams on the cobblestoned diadem  Warmed my heart which was a shackled cold-cut gem Your love was a unicorn of magical colours--- A fairytale with fairies and pixie dust downpours! A radiant rainbow shining through the rain-kissed breeze A holy grail which restored my life That was a tapestry of tangled filigrees  The moonshine was silver spangled wonderland  The starlight spoke of songs long forgotten The sun rose each day utmost brilliance The moon rejoiced with us in a mellow incandescence The diamond dust of new stars were born to celebrate A light of our love so sacred,  Where time and space eternally traversed. RECHERCHÉ

RECHERCHÉ  Floral fresh air and the greenery born of shamrock carpets Honeyed sparkles in my eyes as I traipsed along sunlit gardens  Finding a four leaf clover was a triumph  Always wary of the gnome who guarded the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow  A medley and a festival of songbirds deep in choir, each in hues of the sunset sky! Running through daisy meadows on summer afternoons,  In every daydream I found pixies and elves everywhere  Stretching out on picnic mats and looking for unicorn shaped clouds On a Pegasus I wanted to fly away to Neverland or Far, Far Away… Chewing on caramel muffins and cinnamon buns  Skipping on sun-warmed cobblestones; an ideal amusement was hopscotch ! Coloured chalks of pastel pink, blue and yellow shimmered under the dappled sunlight which in vain I tried to clutch Goddess of the seas, wizard on a Halloween-- in cloaks long and flowing gowns Hobbling after woodland critters as they scurried to gather acorns and ...

SWEVEN

SWEVEN  Castle walls and turrets in a tinsel of stained glass  House curling wisps, pale ghosts of yesteryears in a slow dance with the infinite stars A riddle born of crusted ink, she's fragments of history,   rhythm and lyrics, a floating sweven of poetry  There's a fierce winter in her heart where the glaciers don't thaw Soundless lullabies are stinging echoes, at times howling blizzards against gusts of snow Gold trimmed sarcophagus and oceans of lapis lazuli Weave silken strands of summery cobalt to cocoon her heart gauzy Roadmaps to destiny were dilapidated jigsaw pieces and ingots of serrated edges Time! Oh vile thief! Scorched on her soul, etched on her mind, coursing through her veins– a stagnant, potent ache Crocheting splintered memories more distant than the Orion Impaling obsidian, sometimes as soft as a black swan's down  Skies drenched in ivor...
