GONDI

# Day 23 #ArtoonsinnPoetryParlour #NaPoWriMo #Write a poem with a favourite word in your native language.                             GONDI Through star-studded swirling galaxies and constellations celestine, You chose me dearest GONDI when you floated down merrily on gossamer wings and a bejeweled chariot of gold pristine! The stars sparkled a notch brighter, the moon shone like the empress of pearls argentine! In a firework of meteor showers and starbursts, the heavens celebrated your arrival The violet empyrean looked like a divine carnival! Wistfully waiting to see your bonny face Futures foretold us that you would bring in a majestic phase One gaze into your honey brown eyes  And I could drown in pools of caramel skies! Your smiles and laughter are a birdsong chorus, The gurgling and coos whipping up rainbows miraculous A name I call you my fairy, my angel You're my dazzling light, my twinkling star-spangle!...

A rising moon, silver moonlight The first star that I see at night Beauty is Empyrean Over the rainbow, short goodbye Are the eternal you and I The cosmic dance we had performed Long forgotten, sometimes malformed Beauty is Infinite Pic Courtesy:Pixabay ©️ Sangeetha Kamath Prabhu

PIGGY PORK AND CATHERINE CAT

#Day 22 #Soulcraftpoetry #NaPoWriMo 2022 #Animal poetry     PIGGY PORK AND CATHERINE CAT "There have been a spate of copycat robberies in this neighbourhood", grunted Piggy Pork.  "The cat burglar could only be my neighbour, Catherine Cat, it looks like a feline handiwork!" "That's hogwash! Don't be so pig-headed! Do you have any proof, you dork?!" "There's more than one way to skin a cat!" insisted Mrs. Pork, "Let's take her to the pigeons! She won't have a cat in hell's chance to escape judgement, hope they throw her into the dungeons!" Cat is thrown among the pigeons who preside over a jury.  Midway through, Piggy Pork ambles in apologetically with her pearl necklace, much to everyone's fury "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I found my necklace in the pigswill. Catherine Cat…I'm truly sorry…" "That's what happens when you cast pearls before a swine, You made me a guinea-pig for your...

LUCID

#Day 21 #Soul Craft #NaPoWriMo 2022                       LUCID Here I am! How did I get here?! I hear whispers of the waves Songs of the seas Music of faraway lands, is it possible to hear all these? Is this a dream? Or am I awake? Last I remember, I was by a placid lake… These shores of primrose-hued sand Glisten in the noon sun, the breeze is briny, but I want a spot of cool, shady land… I hope this nightmare ends soon I miss my tree, my sister leaves and all the pretty bloom Let me go back to sleep again When I wake up, I will my land and family regain… ©️ Sangeetha Kamath Prabhu

LIKE A SUNFLOWER

#Day 20 #Soulcraftpoetry_Napowrimo 2022 #Inner Journey                  LIKE A 🌻 She was shy as a fawn Absorbed in daydreams eve and morn Naive, didn't know dollar from dime  Gradual change with passage of time Engrossed in tales and books Ebullient that she's now writing her own Talent that was hidden, dormant Has surged like a lava unleashed Astounding metamorphosis has graced Slender, svelte she poises, stretching in the fragranced breeze and the crisp morning sun Facing the sun, the shadows behind her Oblivious to dark shapes, they don't matter! Blooming brightly, radiating bonny character She grounds herself like a sunflower, her sways don't falter. Three cheers, she says for these aureated flowers Standing majestically as tall towers! Deep roots they grow, drinking from the rain-washed mud They're the bounty of every garden bloom or bud Muses of canvas, paint, easel A sharp contrast to every sky pastel. Lives for a day, eter...

ETERNAL SUMMER!

#Day 20 #ArtoonsInnPoetryParlour #NaPoWriMo2022 THERE'S AN ETERNAL SUMMER IN A GRATEFUL HEART There’s an Eternal Summer in a Grateful Heart “I am pleasantly surprised when you know my name even before I introduce myself,  I’m immensely overwhelmed when you are happy to see me early in the morning Greeting me with enthusiasm—a great show Cheerfully jumping up and down with a pitter-patter of tiny feet Pretty lasses in pigtails and bows Boys with their favourite toys in tow… I’m divinely blessed when you come up to me with your teeny-tiny snack boxes Wanting to share a biscuit with me, a piece of sandwich or a potato chip. It’s with a heavy heart that I refuse to partake of it  I tell you have your full fill of it yourselves… When you share your deepest thoughts and classroom squabbles and fallouts with me, Trusting my judgement to solve it for you, truly honoured I feel…  When I meet you after the weekend only gap of a couple of a day or two… I feel extra special wh...

THE PHOENIX

Day 19 #ArtoonsinnPoetryParlour #Napowrimo2022  #They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds---Mexican Proverb                           THE PHOENIX I'll never apologise for shining too brightly. Spanning my wings as a raging fire  Or as a mellow glow of a fairy light in the distant darkness, quite debonaire I'll ignite my spark from within like a star born into itself spurting lava Or explode… leaving trails of cosmic dust like a Supernova I will be the Sun creating galaxies and constellations.  I will burn like a single flame of the candle to keep my hopes and dreams alive with determination! I will be in my own pace, in my own race I will be whoever and whatever I want to be— A sunflower who lives eternally for a day or a perennial evergreen who survives a winter day. When a flurry comes by, swaying my sides flopping, The seeds I carry within maybe for a while buried Only to give birth to ...

This is my version 💖 Fan forever...❤️                   RIDDLE ME RIDDLE ME RI She's a mystery, an enigma You can't decipher her neither can you decode She's a diva, a Madonna She's not a puzzle to be solved, don't nurse your dilemma! A roaring wind, or an ocean briny breeze Refreshing and zesty, she can in a jiffy turn frosty Don't call her a diamond, it can cut through glass Or even a blooming rose, for it has brambles and thorns! An eye-candy is all you need for tired eyes Burning embers look pretty don't they? But only from afar, they sear you when close! She's a star, she belongs in the skies She dazzles and sparkles—make a wish! She might ask the crescent moon to give you back your smiles. Pic Co...

NESTING

#Day18 #ArtoonsinnPoetryParlour #NaPoWriMo 2022 Prompt # "I have asked the sparrows to be quiet today. In respect for the dead, to fidget less and sit, where I ask them to sit." Twigs and sticks, straw and hay W ere collected painstakingly all morning and by the end of the day A basket of comfort padded with leaves was readied for their nestlings to chirp and play A sense of pride bloomed in the tiny hearts of the feathered couple a striking Blue Jay They twittered to each other and with hope they would pray Little did they know a storm was brewing out of nowhere The tree swayed and fell with a crash to their dismay Heartbroken at the sight, they could only screech loudly, their lament to display! Flocks of birds mourned the torment  Pleading for their crushed chicks and  The nests which lay as kindling and their hearts a fragment… Fury had ravaged the canaries and hawks  Leaving behind a trail of cadavers of sparrows, nightjars and larks… Pic Courtesy: Pixabay ©️ Sangeet...

GIFTS

#Day17 #Artooninnpoetryparlour There's a time and tide for every man In the oceans, seas, vast skies and every island Gargantuan mountain ranges rose on impact of a clash That's why we have the Himalayas A Vesuvius too which molten lava from conical spouts unleash Mammoths and extinct animals were found frozen in glaciers and ice Ambers and resins with fossils of ants, insects and flies Home to a cache of rare gemstones and diamonds Diving into the inky depths of the seas reveal sunken Armadas and Dramonds. The currents are swift and the forces suction Tsunamis and waves engulf leaving behind a trail of destruction When the waves are once again frothy and lace your tippy toes Myriad shells, barnacles and pearls are gifts from the sea to you! Nature is wild and raging, howling with hurricanes, typhoons, tornado The crashing waves, the tides almost reach a crescendo The heart of the man is very much like an ocean A placid surface reveals sunken treasures and pearls aurorean ©️ S...

OH, NO! SCIENCE!

#Day17 #Soulcraftpoetry #Science OH, NO! SCIENCE… Most loathsome subject in high school was science All the doctors and engineers in my family couldn't get me to change my mind nor in anyway influence! Math was my dyxlexia four plus four was nine I couldn't solve a sum to save my tiny life so delicate and fine! The knocks and whacks I recieved in exasperation Only fuelled my distaste for it in nosediving frustration Trignometry, geometry, algebra… I don't care who is A, B, Y's X or if a giraffe married a zebra! Diameter, radius, Pythagoras theorem Weekend afternoons were bogged down with tuitions oh why am I fated to this boredom! Cylinders, cones, prisms and rhombus Trignometry, symmetry and mind-numbing Calculus.. Beakers, test tubes of nauseating acids with poor live frogs pinned ready to dissect! It was repulsive to a teenager who'd never harmed an insect… "If a biology lesson is your Achilles heel, you can't become a surgeon!" "Never you mi...
