NAKHODKA (LUCKY FIND)

I've always been fascinated by the idea of stumbling upon something valuable or meaningful when you least expect it.  Having made a recent move into my new home, I was on top of the world, looking forward to starting this new chapter in the quiet suburbs that I always longed for. The entire place was a whimsical cottage, tucked away in a secluded, yet one which gave me a wide view of all the houses across and the street separating us.  But for the attic which the previous owners couldn't be bothered to clear out or get the items out of their hands as the realtor told me, the place was spick and span with polished wood and sparkling surfaces. Tackling the attic was going to be quite the task, but once I settled in, I dove right in to declutter it. I had planned to renovate it and make it a cozy reading nook . Oh, did I have some great interior decoration plans and lighting to go along with it. And after I became good friends with the stay at home neighbourhood ladies, I ...

MAHALIN ( TO LOVE, TO BEHOLD AND TO CHERISH)

Finale:                The Cinderella Story Fluffnut and Muay Thai 's bond grew stronger with each passing day. They'd spend hours lounging in the sunbeams that streamed through the windows, or out in the garden chasing the occasional swarm of butterflies and stray pigeons who skittered past them playfully and lazing together in the afternoon sun. Muay's playful nature brought out Fluffnut’s more energetic side, while Fluffnut’s calm demeanor soothed Muay’s rambunctious spirit. One afternoon, as they were lounging on their favorite cushion, Fluffnut began to groom Muay Thai's fur. Muay Thai purred contentedly, basking on the verge of falling into a relaxing deep sleep.Fluffnut worked out a knot in Muay Thai's coat as Muay Thai's eyes grew heavy. The fondness was evident. As the days turned into weeks, their affection for each other only deepened. Fluffnut would often surprise Muay Thai with little gifts – a ball of yarn, frangipani blooms...

LUA NALU ( TROUBLESOME TWO)

Chapter 6                 Back On Familiar Grounds They were back just like the proverbial cat dragged them back in! Disheveled, muddy, bedraggled and limp. They panted out of exhaustion plus with the relief of coming back to a safe place. But they were back to their destructive business the very next day and how! These monstrous tidal sweeps— Lua Nalu . With a flick of her tail, Muay was in her element playfully knocking over plants and vases, then gazing up at me with her usual innocent expression, as if to say, " Who, me?No way!"  I could only grin it off and bear with it. Small trespasses like these overrode the immense love I had for her. She was back, finding her way back home after a treacherous journey by foot and that's all that mattered. My life was once again a whirlwind with Fluffnut and Muay Thai , my two mischievous felines. Together, they were a dynamic duo, driving me crazy with their fast and furious antics. Fluffnut,...

KALE LUZEREAN ( THE LONG WAY HOME)

Chapter 5:                  The Long Way Home Under the cover of darkness, the cats Muay Thai and Fluffnut made their move. The Ryujinite crystal cleaved the bars of the catio with a soft hum.  Muay darted towards the catio door, her sleek body weaving through the bars. She walked behind Fluffnut yet with determination and spunk written all over her. Bounding lithely over hedges, they were careful to crouch and slink in the shadows until they left the row of houses and the sprawling lavender fields far behind them. Hours later, they found themselves in a cramped, dimly lit alleyway, lampposts flickering madly. The silhouettes danced in a sinister fashion. The sounds of the bustling city were alien to them. Despite walking closely together, Muay shivered on this cold night. It looked like it would rain in a while as a few stray drops trickled on their heads. Their hearts pounding in unison, they sprinted down the alley withou...

JOIE DE VIVRE

Chapter 4:                      The Epic Rescue  Before I had set out on my Rescue Mission, I had dropped a pink frangipani flower beside hu-mum , my eyes shining with unshed tears. I wonder if she had sensed that I was conveying a crucial message though I doubt that humans possess the gilt-edged intelligence of us cats. Absent-mindedly, she had pressed the bloom between the pages of a diary, as I continued to stare at the pages on which she wrote furiously. Muay ’s love for frangipani flowers was something special. Every time we'd go frolicking on the front yard, she'd spot those delicate, fragrant blooms and would sniff the air around ecstatically, swivelling her head like a malfunctioning doll.  Digging her claws into the bark she would climb the gnarly trunk with sudden bursts of energy. Zooming like an unguided missile from branch to boughs, Muay marked every territory on the tree with her toe beans . Gently ...
