REMINISCENCE

REMINISCENCE The idyll of summer days and picnic fun were daubed with all the hues of a rainbow and the golden sun When puffy clouds reminded me of spun cotton candy and frosting cream on cake… Daydreams opened a portal, a gateway to a fantasy world with dolphins and even mermaids Hearty laughter were the tinkling of our souls when i waited for you in the fading sepia light of late noon Upon the rain washed sky of deep ultramarine Billowed burgeoning clouds in shades of citrine Sunbeams sparkled and arcs of rainbows shimmered on a perfect dome azure Reminding me of songs and poems pristine and pure I could steal silken strands out of the summery cobalt  And weave a duvet to cocoon my porcelain heart.. The cherry-blossom and vanilla infused sweet spring fragrance like a gossamer shawl embraced me The silken hearts of Sakura raining down blessings of pink confetti Every day was a melodious love ...

BENEATH A STARRY SKY

BENEATH A STARRY SKY When the leaves were olive green and burgeoning, lushly unfurling The air, laden with aroma of wild roses, jessamine infusing The sky was a celebration of blue, the sun of gold Only respite when colours muted and moon was luminescent cold Violet duvet was pulled down on relentless sun rays Celestial sugar sprinkles emerged like diamonds on display A million miles away pulsing and beaming at star gazers 'Twas a special kind of Iris black to hold up  All the stars in its arms and velvety cradles Chirps of crickets, hoots of owls serenaded us on camping nights Near the still waters of the lake reflecting a full moon  The earth yearned to get drenched  In sweet honeyed drops of rainy symphony When dusty brown changed to decadent mahogany Argentine moon cast dappled shadows through flickering leaves Skin adorned with perspiration, For a caress of cool air it pleads The wrath of flame sparked s...

THE JOYRIDE

THE JOYRIDE…? The light was getting dimmer. The sky was dull…not the bright blue like it was this morning. Yesterday, mummy was digging and working in the garden for most of the morning and seemed very happy to see all her newly bought plants. "You'll see, David…I've planted pansies, gerberas and geraniums. Our garden will be a patch of pretty blooms in no time. I tell you, I do have green fingers and you'll be proud of me" She was talking excitedly to daddy when we sat out on the porch at night. I had wanted to see them too but right now they looked bare. So I continued to play and soak in the springtime sun and twirl about in the light drizzles. It would get so lonely at times at home with mummy and daddy off to work and just a sitter who would take care of my meals. She hardly spoke to me or played with me…. I went out into the garden to check the new plants. Oh! Here they come! Mummy and daddy are back from work! Mummy looks f...

BRAVA!

#Day 30 #ArtoonsinnPoetryParlour #Napowrimo2022                               BRAVA! Poets, writers, lyricists and composers You led me into your magical world of  Emotions, sentiments, thoughts and fears A month we spent on weaving words together On a single prompt everyday which brought as friends much closer Days and nights were spent appreciating and giving emojis of hugs and hearts Sorrows and tears were cathartic wiped away by virtual fingertips gentle… Witty and hilarious pieces were like a much needed manna on a careworn day NaPoWriMo ends today, tomorrow's just a another boring Sunday😢 Why does it feel like a send-off from college? ARIEL'S WEDDING

#Day29 #Soulcraftpoetry #Napowrimo2022 # QUADRILLE ---a poem with exactly 44 words                 ARIEL'S WEDDING Underwater garths of incandescent bulbs  Comes alive with pulsing wispy tails of electric ribbons, Lighting up the depths of the ocean as they glide along,  These bouquets of a mermaid's wedding.  They sparkle, tentacles eveready to strike anyone who is in their territory wrong.
