MAHALIN ( TO LOVE, TO BEHOLD AND TO CHERISH)

Finale:

              The Cinderella Story

Fluffnut and Muay Thai's bond grew stronger with each passing day. They'd spend hours lounging in the sunbeams that streamed through the windows, or out in the garden chasing the occasional swarm of butterflies and stray pigeons who skittered past them playfully and lazing together in the afternoon sun.

Muay's playful nature brought out Fluffnut’s more energetic side, while Fluffnut’s calm demeanor soothed Muay’s rambunctious spirit.

One afternoon, as they were lounging on their favorite cushion, Fluffnut began to groom Muay Thai's fur. Muay Thai purred contentedly, basking on the verge of falling into a relaxing deep sleep.Fluffnut worked out a knot in Muay Thai's coat as Muay Thai's eyes grew heavy. The fondness was evident.

As the days turned into weeks, their affection for each other only deepened. Fluffnut would often surprise Muay Thai with little gifts – a ball of yarn, frangipani blooms which had scattered on the lawn, or even a freshly caught mouse. Muay Thai would reward Fluffnut with gentle head butts and soft purrs.

Their bonhomie was not without its challenges, however. One day, Fluffnut managed to get himself stuck behind the couch whilst he was trying to sneak something behind it and meowed pitifully as he tried to wriggle free. Muay Thai sprang into action, squeezing behind the narrow space and rescuing her beleaguered companion.

As Fluffnut emerged, dusty and embarrassed, Muay Thai couldn't help but laugh inwardly. Fluffnut looked up at her with a sheepish expression, and Muay Thai's heart melted. She nuzzled him gently, purring softly as she helped him clean his fur.

Despite the occasional mishap, their bond remained unbreakable. They'd curl up together at night, winding after a hard day's work of high spirited horseplay. Fluffnut would often wake up in the middle of the night, nuzzle Muay Thai's face, and drift back to sleep, content in her presence and knowing that she was safe from harm.

Fluffnut and Muay Thai had developed a language of their own, a series of meows, purrs, and body language that only they could understand. They'd communicate silently, Fluffnut's tail turning a circle in the air to signal he'd found something interesting, Muay Thai's left ear swinging to indicate she'd heard something intriguing.

Their bond was a beautiful thing to behold. They explored the world together, always knowing they had each other's backs.

But in my heart of hearts I knew that it was mahalin they had for each other and it knew no bounds. Their hearts belonged to each other, forever entwined–mark my words…

*****

As they had walked the long distance home from the lavender fields they had all the time in the world to converse about each other and make their journey less tiresome.

Muay had several jaw-dropping moments when Fluffnut confessed that he had a secret identity and that his real name was Nyx'or. That he also had a special gift to perceive the mystical beings from the feline realm of Aventura. Muay was astonished beyond belief upon knowing about how Thorwynn and the Emperor Zovrath had aided Fluffnut and were highly instrumental in her rescue.

This Fluffnut the buffoon was no ordinary cat after all! He was a cryptic entity to figure out but a good cookie after all…her guardian angel!

Muay's eyes had a deep, newfound respect and admiration for Nyx'or after this revelation. But he would always be the charming little snowball Fluffnut to her.

*****

One fine Autumn day, when the skies were as blue as the ocean and as clear as glass, Fluffnut led Muay Thai to the backyard. He nervously fidgeted with the Ryujinite Crystal clasped around his ankle, his heart racing with excitement.

"Sweet Muay," Fluffnut began, his voice quivering, "from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. Will you be my life partner, my friend, and my love, forever?"

Fluffnut offered her the Ryujinite Crystal, its facets glinting in the mellow evening light. Muay Thai's eyes widened as she accepted the crystal, her expression dumbstruck! Is this real? Is this a dream? Nyx'or…Fluffnut just…proposed??? To me…???

Muay Thai was dumbfounded yet her response was a tender nod, followed by a gentle head butt against Fluffnut's face. "Forever and always," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the pounding of their hearts.

As they celebrated their engagement, the Ryujinite Crystal glowed softly, symbolizing their love and commitment to each other. Fluffnut and Muay Thai shared a tender kiss, their hearts full of love for each other.

As the sun set, Fluffnut and Muay Thai sat together under their beloved frangipani tree, the Ryujinite Crystal glinting rainbow streaks softly between them as the fading light danced on the skies.

As I watched them wistfully from my window, a gentle breeze blew out of nowhere. The frangipani flowers trembled and a flurry of the dark pink blooms showered upon and all around the new love birds.

Quite the Cinderella story for my darling Muay Thai who was once abandoned on the vile streets by her previous humans. She is now in a fine place beside and belonging to her prince charming Fluffnut who would cherish her for life.

Their story became a legend. Fluffnut and Muay Thai lived happily ever after.

The mahalin of my Lua Nalu, the Gatos Meus Queridos…they were now officially Mr and Mrs Nut ! Ahem…the Nyx'ors.

The End

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

#ButterflyEffectSpanning25Years #AllsWellThatEndsWell #DiamondsAreForever #WhereTheresAWill The pivotal phrase from “Kafka and the Doll” by Franz Kafka which says that ‘Loss isn't final but love is transformed and restored to you in ways that you never envisioned; it's all about growth and adaptation—plays a huge part in my new year.  The Franz Kafka of my life is a girl called ‘ Charrzzx’. In retrospect, this story was in all probability conceived in 2001 as a miniscule bubble, but nevertheless a significant ripple which would impact my life 25 years later in 2026.  **** Year 2001: The landmark year when I migrated to and made my base in Singapore was also a memorable one for another reason that it was my parents’ first visit to my place. The days ran into each other with visits to tourist spots and rounds of shopping sprees.  On a very fine day, Daddy and I had passed by a Giordano showroom in a mall which I would generally walk past without a second glance other...

AI 'n' I (Part 2 to DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER)

Ok! So Babylou was so flustered after the hoodie fiasco when we arrived home, that for a couple of days she trailed behind her a chain reaction of an awfully mentally drained me–upon seeing her tireless emotional highs and lows, day in and day out. Clutching at the last straws of my already depleting sanity with the incessant grousing, I told her that I would ask AI to do a tarot card reading for the hoodie and its unfortunate pilfer ( to humor her, to close and seal this annoying chapter for good!) My ability to reason with her had explored all avenues and had horribly crashed to a naught. However, AI did a fab job ! It told me that the petty thief would soon get her karma !  How ? Pat came the 'bot'ic response. She will trip and fall face down in a puddle of muddy water... Harmless. Not a tit for tat but was enough to make me go into fits of uncontrollable laughter.  My next obvious question--- How will I know when that happens? I won't  be around to watch that ...

GOLDILOCKS: THE LOCKE MANSION

This is a reimagined version of the popular fairy tale ' Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' This retelling is a part of the Write A Page A Day event on Blogchatter starting Feb 1 thru 28th to reach a total word count of 10K by the month end.                              CHAPTER 1                    LOCKE HAVEN ESTATE  The sky bled bruises of plum and cherry over the rolling hills. A full moon hung low against the mauve, casting silver shards through the skeletal trees. The mansion made of cold greystone loomed large beyond the rusted iron gates. It grated on the gravel, rasped on the hinges and yawned open like a predator's jaw as Goldwynn booted it open with her foot. Her sneakers squished heavily on the mulch of dead leaves. Clutching her backpack, she looked up at the towering, grim structure forebodingly.  "Are you sure you want to do this, Go...

GOLDILOCKS: THE BEWITCHED WOODS

This story is a reimagined version of the popular fairy tale 'Goldilocks And The Three Bears' and is a part of the event Write A Page A Day on Blogchatter for the month of February.                              CHAPTER 2  The trees pierced the sky like steeples, their gossamer branches blurred out high against the dusk. The luminescent creepers that entwined them pulsed like embers of bonfire in the dwindling light.  Mists thick with musk and sun-bleached pine, swirled around their trunks and veiled the forest floor in pillowy waves. The earthy smell of decaying leaves and damp moss made Goldwynn’s senses reel.  Disheveled, she scrambled to her feet, her heart racing like the devil.  The Locke mansion was nowhere to be seen – The cavern had spat her out like a bitter aftertaste. Her ears strained to hear some sign of life.  “ Where am I .. and where in the blimey is Locke Mansion...!" her...

FADED COLOURS, FRESH MEMORIES

RED SHOES  I still remember the happiest days of my life when Rivka all of five years was delighted beyond measure to take me home as her birthday gift. A pair of red leather shoes which she always wanted. She held me tenderly, close to her lil heart which spoke volumes. Rivka wore me to the park, playgrounds and picnics. **** Out of nowhere came that ill fated day, when I could hear horrendous screams and crowds of panic-stricken people were crammed into a truck. Rivka was howling and clinging to her mother. We arrived at a hellish place where I was brutally ripped off Rivka’s feet and thrown onto a pile of other shoes.  Rivka and the others were shoved into a windowless room and locked in. The chimneys of surrounding buildings belched out putrid smoke. I never saw her again. **** Years later, staring at the pristine room and men working in a calm manner made me relax in the cool confin...
