SMARAGDINE DREAMS
Millions of pearly crystal balls showering on rain drenched glens
Tumbling down from heaven's crowns are these priceless zircon smidgens
Singing against my window pane, on my roof--tap dancing
The serenade is a steady staccato of sweet drumming
Tear-drop confetti morph into a photograph
Splashing on water-cloches in a rhythmic choreograph
Swaying against the metal grey clouds are citrine leaves glossy
Dusty ochre paths turn into rich ebony and mahogany
The briers and hedges soak in this welcoming marinade
Monsoons blow away moldering debris in a cascade
Dense olive green foliage and a fragrance of pine
Softening blazing summers into caramel hues and smaragdine
Windblown raindrops seek a watery sunshine
Chrome velvet empyrean is adorned with rainbow tiaras hyaline
I glimpse the powder blue sky as clouds break apart
I'm a dreamer, songwriter of my orchestra and very own concert
A liquid patch of jigsaw in the cyan puddle
Shows me the big picture solving every puzzle and riddle…
Summer flowers droop in this intoxication of marvel
As a content pluviophile I sit back and revel.
