In the carousel of the skies and painted unicorn-shaped clouds
Love is a merry-go-round and churning ferris wheel
My wayward heart's in a dizzy spin
Around us the evening sun in apricot shine
If you fade on me like the sinking sun
Be my steady darkness of a soothing chrysalis
I would trade a thousand fuchsia sunrises
For the solemn twilight indigos
From which blooms the opal rose
The swelling starlight a pulsing firework
If not a majestic dazzle,
I'm content with your mellow comfort
Let me drown in the rain in your heart
And create a rainbow on the shimmering pewter
Tonight, I close my eyes locking you in my dreams
Cold embers reviving, burning warm and deep.
