#DAY 2 #SOULCRAFT NAPOWRIMO
ROW, ROW, ROW YOUR BOAT
You were my fairy godmother
Like you I will find no other
In your arms I found happiness and bliss
Why didn't I realize that was your last kiss?
You set off on your own
Before the sun rose to welcome the dawn
When I woke up on that fateful morn
Everyone said that you were gone
No! She won't leave me behind; I was obstinate
Dear child, come to terms with it, this is inevitable, it's called fate…
What about the untold story, the incomplete one?
Where everyone lived happily ever after under the sun…
How will I sleep without your lullaby
You went away without a proper goodbye!
We had so much to live for, a chapter was closed too soon!
I can feel you in the rain, the dimming daylight, the rising twilight and the blossoming moon…
Thin is the veil between two realms
Is that how you visit me every night in my dreams?
You always spoke of me as meek and soft-spoken…
Deep is my regret, guilt and remorse, I've changed to become a wild child bold and brazen.
Would it break your heart? Would it make you proud?
You'd agree the world is a shark pool, in every bait and trap I would otherwise enshroud!
You walk with me, you're by my side
I faintly hear your whisper, you're my unseen guide
When I overthink and sink in a quagmire,
I feel a sharp nudge in my mind, "Up you get set your spirit afire!"
I'm who you wanted me to be
No more a wallpaper, no more a crybaby!
When I search for answers in my phases of zeniths and nadirs,
I cling to your letters, bangles, memories; they're my only souvenirs…
