Self Discovery 30 Day Writing Challenge
Day #23 What would your ideal day look like?
As ideal as ideal can be! That could only exist about some four decades back when the air was clean and fresh, when there was greenery all around and when houses were homes.
My days which I remember from my early childhood were just that. Nothing but cheery and carefree.
Only a distant memory now or a like long- forgotten dream I cling on to those hopelessly. But they are not gone in vain because those were remarkable enough to replay in my mind, even after a generation..!
Hypothetically speaking, there's nothing to beat living in an idyllic countryside in a cottage with skylights and clumps of flowers and lush trees all around it.
Surrounded with snow capped mountains and deep pine woods, I would be one with nature listening to the hooting of the owls at night and only the rustling of wind through the leaves.
With no clocks, alarms would be non existent in my world, and I would only wake up to the sound of birds singing outside my window or the dawn breaking behind the mountains.
When the skies turned to dusk, I would then call it a day with a supper of hot soup, warm toasted bread or a bowl of carrots-peas porridge.
I can imagine myself bundled up inside a throw rug with a book to keep me company and a mug of hot cocoa to warm my heart; stretching out in front of a fireplace to warm my toes.
The ideal days ahead where I can only see the most pristine azure cloudless skies with birds flying high up, sometimes coming to land in my birdbath or around the bird-feeder.
Feeling the soft grass underneath my bare foot as I leisurely stroll forever--- with nowhere in particular to go to, and nothing to disturb my tranquility.
With the wildflowers brushing past my ankles, the breeze dancing in my hair and the crisp mountain air on my face, I would hop and skip playfully through the daisy fields and meadows along with the rabbits, fawns and lambkins and make daisy chains all afternoon.
Wifi? Messenger? Whatsapp? Television? What on earth are these gizmos??
I would rather go back to a world before man started playing God.
To be more attuned with myself, fulfill my soul purpose, spend the rest of my days with an enriched inner life and live with a childlike innocence with nothing but wonder in my eyes and heart ❤️
